Six millimeter bronzite gemstones are linked together with solid bronze wire.  The Our Father beads are bronzite rounds with beautiful oblong bronze beadcaps.  The center is impressed with the St. Benedict medal, an effective sacramental, and one of the oldest known medals.  This medal has been used by Catholics since the 11th century to ward off spiritual and physical dangers.  Pope Leo IX credited this medal with curing him of snake bite (think of the bronze figure Moses used to heal the Israelites of snakebite in the desert!) though it was first attached to rosaries by St. Vincent de Paul.
